Union Theological Seminary’s Professor of Old Testament, David Carr, exegetes the David and Bathsheba story and reads Psalm 51 over a bed of samples. Dr. Carr is the author of The Erotic Word: Sexuality, Spirituality, and the Bible and Writing on the Tablet of the Heart Origins of Scripture and Literature.

    I loved Dr. Carr’s exegesis of Psalm 51–that God might “beat the sin out of us . . . .” Just thinking how I might preach this . . . .

    Yeah, I’m a big fan of Dr Carr. He’s got a good way of bridging rigorous scholarship with the realities of living. Also, he’s one of the few people I know who speaks in complete paragraphs, which made that episode extremely easy to edit…
